Camping tents on Kids Courier

Camping tents, became popular to use as cities and towns began to establish municipal and smaller further "out there" campgrounds. Provisions were basic, usually a level space to pitch camping tents and an outhouse. Campers usually packed a tent, blankets, cook set, a limited menu of food and a milk carton to hold drinking water.

When the second world war began, recreational type of activities lessened. However, after the war, in the fifties, Americans started to travel again. Motels and roadside inns were established along the highways and privately owned campgrounds and state park camp sites replaced municipal campgrounds. Rather than camping in tents for economical reasons, people camped because they loved being outdoors.
