Tent campers

Part of the growth is due to a new generation of tent campers: the 25 to 44 year-olds with young children, who have not yet progressed to RVs. More than 47 million Americans tent camp every year at some 16,000 campgrounds and wilderness campsites. Because of career and family demands, the quick, weekend getaway is increasingly replacing the extended vacation.
